As a global governance mechanism, the G20 is uniquely positioned to shape the various components of the global trade and investment regime. This event will address a series of issues linked this relationship, such as the role of leadership by the G20, tensions arising from mega-regional agreements, the digital economy and global value chains, and G20 guidance in ensuring the global trade and investment regime is more oriented towards meeting sustainable development goals. More broadly, the event aims to better understand how the G20 can be most effective in addressing trade and investment issues in 2015, 2016 and beyond.

This dialogue breaks into two sessions, namely, (1) review and reflections about trade and investment agenda in G20, and (2) prospects for G20 Trade and Investment Agenda in 2015 and 2016. Confirmed speakers include Ambassadors from G20 Troika (Australia, Turkey, and China) and several other previous G20 host countries.

This event is organized by ICTSD in partnership with the Graduate Institute.

Attendance to this dialogue is by invitation only.
